Glaring Omission from NBC's Coverage of the
2006 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony in Torino

Baby Amanda:  Hello, Doll Land friends and fans around the world!
Baby Bill:  We always love sharing our adventures with you.

Baby Amanda (interjects heatedly): You are NOT going to believe this!!!

Baby Bill:  But every word and picture is true.
 

Baby Amanda:  We arrived in Torino in plenty of time before the Opening Ceremony,
Baby Bill:  Met up with our old friend, IOC PRESIDENT, JACQUE ROGGE,

spent a bit of time catching up since we last saw him in Paris, April 2005,

Baby Amanda:  and then confirmed all our assignments for the XXth Winter Olympics.
Baby Bill:  Yes!  All was set for our first appearance --
Baby Amanda:  the key component of the Opening Ceremony just a few hours later.

Baby Bill:  Even though we couldn't march in the Parade of Nations, a few of Doll Land's residents did participate.  Did you see them?

Baby Amanda:  Of course, they didn't see them, Baby Bill.  NBC didn't show them!!!

Baby Bill:  Oh, I was so caught up in relating our story,
I guess my mind blocked out that travesty of justice.

Baby Amanda:  Totally understandable, Baby Bill.
Some things are difficult to comprehend and denial is often the best way to deal with them.
We hope to share a few candid shots taken by some of our  athlete friends in a day or two.
 

Baby Bill:  We are still unsure why NBC failed to broadcast our stellar appearance in the Opening Ceremony and will be investigating this further.
Baby Amanda:  Well, I have a few ideas but will leave that for another time.
 

Baby Bill:  Let's just give our true fans their first --
Baby Amanda:  and EXCLUSIVE --
Baby Bill:  opportunity to see the great pageantry they and the rest of the world missed.
Baby Amanda:  We need to, pardon the pun, set the stage.
Baby Bill:  After Yoko Ono recited the opening words from John Lennon's Imagine

Baby Amanda:   and before the Olympic torch was lit,
Baby Bill:  everything was dark except for a single spotlight in the center of the arena.

Baby Amanda:  Then . . .
